What’s a book coach?

Okay, writers. Time for some real talk.

Have you ever felt like the words you’re writing don’t translate what’s actually in your head? Like your story is getting lost even as you type? Or perhaps you’ve finished a manuscript (woo!), but feel entirely overwhelmed because you know something isn’t working, yet you just can’t quite put your finger on why?

You might need a book coach.

A book coach is your personal writing teacher and champion. Book coaches support you at any stage of your creative process with specialized guidance to help you hone your craft and hold you accountable to get your work finished! As book coaches, our goal is to help you tell a story that works.

What do book coaches do?

We provide developmental support as we analyze what works and what doesn’t—from your story’s point, to your character’s internal and external arcs, to worldbuilding. Whether you’re struggling with the the structure or the execution of your story, we’ll teach you how to sharpen your skills.

We will hold you accountable. We often talk about how straight up difficult it is to write a book. We know firsthand the long hours, the pages on pages of notes, and how overwhelming it can all be. Book coaches are project managers and we can keep you on track to finally accomplish your goals.

Book coaches are excellent cheerleaders, great listeners, and we love, love, love seeing our clients succeed. The creative journey is a rollercoaster with countless ups and downs, late nights, early mornings, and moments of frustration. We get it; we’ve been there. We are here to support you emotionally as you do one of the most amazing things: write a book.
